McLaren launched the 675LT to critical acclaim at the end of 2015. The “LT” stands for Longtail and pays tribute to McLaren’s iconic F1 GTR Longtail race car from the 90’s that secured a stunning inaugural victory at Le Mans in 1995. Based on the already successful 650S and produced for just one year, the 675LT Coupe was re-designed and presented as a track focused car, with a 30HP increase in power to a “beastly” 666HP and a weight reduction of some 220lbs vs. the 650S. Just 500 675LT Coupes were manufactured for the production run, with just 180 making their way to the U.S.; the remainder being scattered around the World. And as all 500 cars sold within the first week of the models release, securing a 675LT put you in a pretty exclusive owners club. BUT THIS CAR IS EVEN MORE SPECIAL... Pre-launch, McLaren built 8 pre-production test vehicles, 3 of which were destroyed. The remaining 5 were tested to validate performance claims and used for press journalists to review. These 5 cars were subsequently taken back to the factory in Woking, England and were completely stripped and re-built, before being sold to 5 very privileged buyers. This car is the only pre-production prototype in the World in McLaren's launch color, Chicane Grey and is offered with an exceptional specification.
