Carson is a beautiful, striking, deep chestnut-red colored boy with bold white markings and amber colored eyes. His photos do NOT do him justice. He is a ham and fun loving, and though Carson might be a mix instead of pure Siberian Husky, he acts entirely like a Husky and almost fully looks the part.
Carson is young (2-4 years old) and is an active, energetic, sweet, friendly and affectionate dog. He is housetrained, but needs work on basic obedience. Shouldn't take him long to learn because he is very smart and a fast learner, but he will test you a little bit so a gentle but firm hand who understands positive reinforcement training would suit him best. He would most likely not do well alone in a house for too long and would be happiest with another dog to keep him company and help him burn off that extra puppy energy!
If you work at home, or are a housemom or housedad, or have another furball in the house, and you love taking your pups for walks and car rides, you'd be the perfect type of family for this sweet guy! To adopt Carson, fill out an application on http://www.HuskyHavenFL.com.
Husky Haven of Florida is a registered 501c3 Non-Profit corporation that is run strictly by unpaid volunteers. Husky Haven of Florida does not receive funding from the state or any other government entity and is not affiliated with local government or civic organizations. Instead, the ogranization runs solely off donations and money it raises via events and adoption fees and every dollar Husky Haven of Florida raises goes directly to the care and rehoming of the Huskies that come into our Rescue.
Husky Haven's volunteers are a group of concerned citizens who share a love of the Siberian Husky breed and personally work to save good dogs from euthanasia at the many area shelters run by animal services divisions of Florida's local governments. Almost all of Husky Haven's adoptable dogs were on death row before they were saved, and many of them receive needed medical and nutritional care before they are adopted into their forever homes.
Husky Haven of Florida's mission is the following:
1) To rescue stray, surrendered and endangered Siberian Huskies.
2) To provide support, education and assistance if possible to owners of Siberian Huskies.
3) To educate the public through events and public forums about Huskies and the need for Rescues.
4) To work with other Rescues in helping all animals and their humans enjoy a healthy beneficial relationship .
To adopt a dog from Husky Haven of Florida, you must fill out an application on our website (http://www.huskyhavenfl.com) and then wait to be approved by our organization. Approval will come after interview(s) and home inspection(s) by our volunteer staff. Approvals are based on such things as references (including from your veterinarian), dog experience and knowlege, Husky experience and knowlege, living/housing arrangements, suitability of the dog you are interested in to your lifestyle, etc. Husky Haven reserves the right to deny adoption to any person who does not provide a good match or who does not have adequate knowlege, experience or means to own a challenging breed like a Husky.
