Profile:
Sheba was dumped at Miami-Dade animal services with NINE new born puppies in tow. Luckily, we were able to save her and her pups in the 11th hour, just before they were scheduled to be euthanized. Now that most of her puppies have been adopted, it's Sheba's turn to find her forever home!
Sheba is shy, submissive and timid around people. It is very likely that in her young life (we estimate her to be around 1.5-2 years old) she had never been handled by people, except perhaps as a very young pup or perhaps very cruelly. We are not sure how she lost her right ear, but it was cleanly cut off at the base. She will hang out with you in a room, but is timid. She will let you touch her, but will freeze under your hand until she can sneak away when you are done. In her time with her foster dad, she has started coming up to him for treats and food, and is slowly losing her fear of him.
Sheba made an excellent mom to her pups, and there is no doubt in our minds that with the right kind of steady, gentle affection, she will eventually come out of her shell and become a very loyal, loving dog. She just needs someont to show her that she can trust without fear.
Sheba should go to a family with calm, loving adults and no small or boisterous children who would frighten her. She does well with other dogs and is very submissive.

Husky Haven of Florida is a registered 501c3 Non-Profit corporation that is run strictly by unpaid volunteers. Husky Haven of Florida does not receive funding from the state or any other government entity and is not affiliated with local government or civic organizations. Instead, the ogranization runs solely off donations and money it raises via events and adoption fees and every dollar Husky Haven of Florida raises goes directly to the care and rehoming of the Huskies that come into our Rescue.
Husky Haven's volunteers are a group of concerned citizens who share a love of the Siberian Husky breed and personally work to save good dogs from euthanasia at the many area shelters run by animal services divisions of Florida's local governments. Almost all of Husky Haven's adoptable dogs were on death row before they were saved, and many of them receive needed medical and nutritional care before they are adopted into their forever homes.
Husky Haven of Florida's mission is the following:
1) To rescue stray, surrendered and endangered Siberian Huskies.
2) To provide support, education and assistance if possible to owners of Siberian Huskies.
3) To educate the public through events and public forums about Huskies and the need for Rescues.
4) To work with other Rescues in helping all animals and their humans enjoy a healthy beneficial relationship .
